Save Our Seminary

Save Our Seminary at Forest Glen (also known as SOS) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1988 and incorporated in 1989 to combat the neglect of the unique, beautiful and historic buildings and landscape of the National Park Seminary in Silver Spring, Maryland. SOS’s ongoing mission is to preserve the historic National Park Seminary and to engage the public through education and advocacy.

SOS works to:

Preserve the buildings, statuary, and landscape.

Collect and preserve the history and artifacts.

Engage the community, organizations, and institutions through educational programs, tours, publications, and volunteer and outreach activities.

Promote enjoyment and appreciation of the site by ensuring public access and benefit.

SOS has about 300 members, including historic preservationists, Seminary alumnae, local residents, and civic leaders. SOS is directed and managed by a volunteer board of directors and a part-time executive director.
